Dine Out With Friends at Red House Cafe. Built in 1895, the "Little Red House" is a local landmark. In 1996, the Red House Cafe was opened in the main part of the house. They serve new American cuisine with a European influence and a strong emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients. They are open 8:00 am - 11:00 am for breakfast, 11:00 am - 2:30 pm for lunch and 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm for dinner. Tell them you're a Friend of Pacific Grove Library and they will donate a portion of their proceeds for the day to the Friends. This is a delicious way to support the library.
Red House Cafe, 662 Lighthouse Avenue, Pacific Grove, 643-1060.
The Book Sale will take place in the arcade at the front of the library. Come for great deals on gently used books, DVDs, CDs and more. Members of the Friends will receive a 50% discount. All proceeds benefit the Pacific Grove Library.
We are in need of volunteers! If you can contribute two or more hours the first Saturday of every month to help with the Book Sales, please contact Friends' board member and volunteer coordinator, Peggy Hansen, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Friends of the Pacific Grove Library has a book club, which:
- Meets most second Mondays at the Little House in Jewell Park at 2:00 pm for about 1-1/2 to 2 hours (we reschedule on Federal holidays)
- Tends to read fiction, but mixes it up depending on the interests of the members
- Tends to read books that aren't brand new, so members can find books at local libraries
- Rotates book leaders, who make a suggestion for the club, then lead the discussion
Carol Greenstreet is the coordinator.
