Dine Out with Friends table and chairs

Dine Out With Friends at Aliotti's Victorian Corner Restaurant. The Aliotti family would like to welcome you to Victorian Corner Restaurant. The Aliottis have been serving breakfast, lunch and dinner since 1977, the longest running restaurant under the same ownership in Pacific Grove. The history of Victorian Corner began in 1893 when it was one of the first Victorian buildings built on what is now Lighthouse Ave. The menu at Victorian Corner features true Sicilian specialties created from long cherished family recipes. Mrs. Aliotti is especially proud of their home-made Sicilian desserts. Grandma Aliotti handcrafts their Cannoli and Tiramisu daily using an old family recipe. They're open 8:00 am - 3:00 pm for breakfast, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm for lunch and 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm for dinner. Tell them you're a Friend of Pacific Grove Public Library and they will donate a portion of their proceeds for the day to the Friends. This is a delicious way to support the library.

Live Indian music & classical dance Free henna application

March 24, 2020
6pm-8pm
Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History

The sights, sounds and fragrances of 1955 India come alive at this dramatic reading of The Henna Artist, a novel by local author Alka Joshi (Harper Collins/ Mira Book, March 2020). Including performances by sitar player Ernie Baber, kathak dancer Madhumita Mehrotra, and a conversation between authors Joshi and Vanessa Diffenbaugh (The Language of Flowers, Ballantine 2011). The two will discuss how to weave historic learnings into a compelling story and how we can use fiction to move social issues forward, such as the empowerment of girls and women in Rajasthan and a better foster care system in the United States. At the book signing, every attendee can get a free application of henna by a professional henna artist.

Co-sponsored by Harper Collins/Mira Books, Friends of Pacific Grove Library and OLLI. The event is free to the public.
