Celebrate National Poetry month before it’s gone with poet, nonfiction author and teacher Patrice Vecchione. Patrice will perform a selection of poems from around the world and chat about the value of poetry in our lives. You’ll leave the evening with poems to carry you through your joys and challenges. And you, too, can be a poet! Patrice will lead the group in the writing of a group poem to celebrate the library.

Patrice Vecchione is the author of two nonfiction books, most recently, Step into Nature: Nurturing Imagination and Spirit in Everyday Life, from Simon & Schuster. She’s also penned two collections of poems and is the editor of many anthologies. Patrice writes a monthly column for the Monterey Herald, called A Walk About Town and is a frequent contributor to Edible Monterey Bay. She was raised on poetry—it was and is the song that calls her name because poems allow us entry into the vast mysteries of life told through the smallest and often most personal of stories. In addition to writing, Patrice is a collage artist. She teaches creative writing workshops for both grown-ups and children. Currently, Patrice is at work on a poetry anthology whose subject is immigration.
